BSC. STATISTICS
We live in a world today where critical decisions are taken in many important fields regarding the sustainability of planet earth. Data acquisition, analyzing and interpretation to make an informed inference is key in the realization of such goal, and this is what Statistics implies. Statistics is the science concerned with developing and studying methods for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and presenting empirical data. It gives diverse methods of data collection and analyzing process for effective graphical representation. With statistical knowledge and skills, there is efficient planning, a better understanding and accurate description of nature’s phenomena. I will say statistics is an exciting field about the thrill of discovery, learning, and challenging your assumptions.

BSC. ACTUARIAL SCIENCE
The job outlook for actuary careers is great. Many institutions, like insurance firms, banks, and other financial institutions benefit from having an actuary on board. Actuarial Science deals with evaluating risks and maintaining the economic stability of insurance or financial organisations. We learn how to use Mathematics, Statistics, and Probability principles to anticipate future events and take preventive measures. I am so fortunate enough to have chosen to read this programme at UENR because we have the best lecturers ever especially in my department (Department of Mathematics and Statistics)
